Cost of a web site
Your web site should be as individual as you and your company. I will consult with you and together we will create a unique and progressive design for your business or personal site. I will provide you with a solid web page, complete with graphics.
This is just a guide for prices and not a definitive list. I can't say what the precise cost will be until I know and understand your web site requirements in more detail.

The majority of the time involved in the process of designing a web site is in creating the first page. The concept, layout, navigation, logo, graphics, and coding can often take many hours to develop. The initial look, flow and feel of the home page are very important and can often take effort to create, while typically the following pages can be developed in less time.
Basic Design for one page
A "page" is defined as about the capacity of an 8x11 inch sheet of paper. This could include text, graphics, photographs, web and e-mail links, enquiry forms, etc. Once the page starts to get larger than this it should be divided into more page categories.
To design and code a simple web page from scratch; perhaps with two or three scanned images (a logo and two or three photographs, for instance) a few links and about 400 -600 words of text - would typically cost around $250. Subsequent pages would typically cost $50 to $75 dollars each depending on the content. All pages would be fully tested in a variety of browsers and under different screen resolutions to make sure that it looks good under most conditions.
Graphic design work
Graphic design is probably the single most time consuming part of developing a web site. If your site requires a lot of original graphic design work like creating a custom company logo, you should expect to pay a little extra for this.
Maintenance and Site Updates
For most web sites all it takes is a simple e-mail exchange and your web site can be updated within a matter of hours.
These periodic changes to your web site might reflect modifications in your operation, new products, seasonal offerings or just an occasional addition or removal of graphic images to give your web site a fresh look. Site visitors and search engines like it when your web site is updated often with new information.
4 Custom Design's site maintenance fees start at a base price of $18 dollars per update and depend on the amount of the material you want updated.
Site maintenance would cover maintaining your existing web site such as updating text, adding photos, etc. It would not cover adding new features to your web site (such as setting up a random image selector using JavaScript or editing and embedding a video into a web page).

I consider adding headlines, captions and basic formatting as part of the design work. The cost of building and maintaining a web site can be affected by how you provide the content. Word files, text emails and jpg or gif files can save time and reduce your development costs. Handwritten notes, faxes, and images that must be scanned take time to re-format and will drive costs up.
All web pages designed by 4 Custom Design are fully tested in a variety of browsers and in multiple screen resolutions to make sure that it looks great under most circumstances.
